CALCULATION OF PRESSURE DROP ACCORDING TO THE INTERNAL DIAMETER OF THE HOSE AND FITTING PASSAGE

Calculation of pressure drop for a flexible hose ( hose + fitting ).

Formula: Pc = (TxL) + R (in mbar)

Pc = Pressure drop in mbar
T = Pressure drop in mbar for one meter of hose according to it' s flow capacity in m³/h (schedule 1)
L = Hose length in meter
R = Pressure drop in mbar caused by the two fittings ( male or female), same condition than "T" (schedule 2)

Flexible hose with one straight and one elbow fitting = R x 1,5
Flexible hose with two elbow fittings = R x 3

PRESSURE DROP ( schedule 1)

PRESSURE DROP ( schedule 2)

Example:

Flexible hose DN 13 length 500 1 F - M, flow capacity 1000 l/h.
Pc = (26 mbar/m x 0,5 m) + 23 mbar =
Flexible hose DN 25 length 800 1 F - N, flow capacity 1500 l/h.
Pc = (3 mbar/m x 0,8 m) + (2,5 mbar x 1,5) =

Note: " T" - value only valid for hoses beeing installed straightly. Bended installation causes important pressure drop in relation to drecreasing bend radius.
